Jurong Lake District
It will be the largest mixed-use business district outside the city centre, where green and blue spaces, amenities and public transport nodes will be within 10-minute reach from the neighbourhoods.
At Jurong Lake Gardens, residents and visitors can enjoy various recreational activities such as kayaking, jogging, cycling, skateboarding, and participate in community gardening, arts and wellness programmes. They can also look forward to the rejuvenated Chinese and Japanese Gardens, and the new Science Centre as they progressively open over the next few years.

A main plaza and new public spaces will form an expansive thoroughfare bridging the Chinese Garden MRT station and Jurong Lake Gardens, providing easy access to attractions, events, and community spaces when the new Science Centre opens around end-2027.
These new public spaces will create more opportunities for delight and recreation through weaving playful science into our everyday surroundings.

As part of our efforts to create a sustainable and low-carbon future, a floating photovoltaic system has been planned for the reservoir to generate renewable energy without affecting the water-based activities.

The relocation of Jurong Bird Park in May 2023 and opening of the Jurong Region Line station near Jurong Hill in 2029 present new opportunities for us to reimagine the Jurong Hill area and the former Jurong Bird Park site for work and play.

In 2023, 140 tertiary students from 18 schools participated in the Challenge for the Built Environment (CUBE) co-organised by URA and JTC to explore how the redevelopment of Jurong Hill and the former Jurong Bird Park site could carefully balance industrial use with conservation of heritage and recreational elements.

The Old Jurong Line (OJL) Nature Trail traces the alignment of the former Jurong Railway Line through the Clementi area. Built in the 1960s, the former Jurong Railway Line facilitated the transport of goods between Jurong and Malaya till the early 1990s. Currently, remnants of the rail tracks and the rail truss bridges remain, affording a glimpse into the past.

In the first phase of development, the OJL Nature Trail will link to the Ulu Pandan Park Connector, and together with the Clementi Nature Trail, will enhance recreational connectivity for residents to the Rail Corridor.
