Explanatory Notes for Extension of Provisional Permission

Under the powers conferred by the Planning (Development) Rules, the Competent Authority hereby requests that all applications for extension of written permission for development projects be made in accordance with the following requirements:

1. Application form

Every application for extension of provisional permission must be made on the prescribed application form. A covering letter should be accompanied with the application form and the reason for the extension of provisional permission should be stated in the letter.

2. Fee

3. General

General information

i.

An application for extension of provisional permission can only be made 2 months (at the earliest) before the expiry of the Written Permission.

ii.

In order that the application can be processed quickly, all particulars requested should be given. The Competent Authority may also request additional information on the application under consideration.

iii.

In connection with the above, Rule 4(3) of the Planning (Development) Rules, 1990 Ed. is reproduced below for your information.

"Any person who submits an application which contains any statement or particular which is false shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or to both".
