Application for permission to demolish existing building.
Explanatory Notes for Demolition of Buildings
Under the powers conferred by the Planning (Development) Rules, the Competent Authority hereby requests that all applications for permission for demolition of existing building/s be made in accordance with the following requirements:
1. Particulars of existing building/s
In the application form, the applicant should state clearly the building/s to be demolished.
2. Application forms
Every application for demolition of buildings must be made on the prescribed application.
In order that the application can be processed quickly, all particulars requested should be given. The Competent Authority may also request additional information on the application under consideration.
To provide a covering letter stating the reason(s) for the demolition, especially if it is a conserved building.
The application form must be accompanied by a letter of authorisation or endorsement from the owner/s of the land. Where an option to purchase the land has been exercised, the application must be accompanied by a letter or the owner's solicitor.
3. Plans to be submitted
Every application must be accompanied by 1 copy of the Location Plan. Location Plan can be purchased from INLIS at https://app1.sla.gov.sg/inlis/#. Alternatively, you may contact INLIS Helpdesk at Tel: 6238 9353. This plan has to be scanned into a file for transmission through Electronic Development Application (EDA).
The subject land must be verged red and the building/s to be demolished must be coloured yellow. Where building to be demolished is not shown in the Location Plan, the applicant is to indicate the building outline and colour the building in yellow.
4. Fee

5. Definition of Owner
"Owner" in relation to land or premises is defined in the Planning Act (Cap 232, 1998 Ed) as the person for the time being receiving the rent of the land or premises whether on his own account or as trustee for any other person or as receiver (not being appointed by or on behalf of a mortgagee) or the person who would receive the rent if the land or premises were let to a tenant and includes:
a mortgagee in possession; and
the purchaser of any newly constructed premises or part thereof in respect of which a temporary occupation permit or a certificate of statutory completion has been granted.
