Criteria for Restaurant and Bar
Find out the criteria for restaurant and bar use.
In evaluating whether premises approved for Restaurant and Bar use, the following are the considerations which URA will take into account:
Whether there is a kitchen or area for preparation of food and meals located within the premises;
Whether there are adequate dining spaces within the indoor areas of the premises which are suitably furnished for customers to have their food and meals.
For premises located in selected areas where Activity Generating Uses (AGU) are required, the restaurant shall operate throughout the day until a reasonable end of mealtimes at night. Refer to URA SPACE for the designated AGU areas.
For premises located within designated AGU areas, where different areas of the premises are used as a restaurant and a bar respectively, the area fronting key streets, pedestrian malls, through block links, and public spaces, shall be set aside for restaurant use in the daytime. Refer to Appendix 1 [PDF, 384 KB] for illustration of allowable layout.
