Drone Show Application

Singapore’s Central Area comprises a number of distinctive districts, each with their own unique character and mix of uses. These areas and the city skyline are the result of careful planning.

URA has developed a set of guidelines for drone shows in Marina Bay, the Padang and other locations within the Central Area to ensure that drone shows are properly curated and align with the image of the Central Area and Singapore as a distinctive global city.

Drone show guidelines for Central Area

Drone shows in the Central Area will require approval by the relevant landowners, and applicants must obtain the necessary permits from the Civil Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and relevant agencies, such as the Singapore Police Force (SPF), before the drone show is permitted to proceed.

All designs and content for drone shows planned at Marina Bay and the Padang must be approved by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).

URA and landowners reserve the right to stop any drone shows if prior approval has not been sought and/or showcase content has not been approved.

Spaces managed by URA in Marina Bay

The designated areas for drones to take off at Marina Bay are The Promontory (managed by URA) and MBS Event Plaza.

To use these areas for drone shows, you must submit an application to obtain a Non-Renewable Temporary Occupation License (NRTOL) for holding the drone show on a short-term temporary basis.

Please submit the event application form at least one (1) month before the drone show date, but no more than nine (9) months in advance.
