Boosting ecological corridors

The region has retained a rustic character with large tracts of greenery around nature reserves, parks and six reservoirs. We will integrate some of these green and blue spaces within our urban environment to become multi-functional spaces that meet social and recreational needs, while improving ecological outcomes.

Connecting new routes with nature

The extensive green and blue network in the region will be better linked to create more recreational opportunities along its waterways.

Creating vibrant community hubs with unique historical settings

Sites of historical significance in North Region are injected with new life through sensitive adaptation into new integrated community hubs.

Canberra House

Canberra House, a National Monument, will house a new library and community activity rooms as part of the Bukit Canberra Integrated Development which has sports facilities and a hawker centre.

Admin Block of the Former Royal Malayan Naval Base “KD Malaya”

The former Royal Malayan Navy Admin Block, proposed for conservation, will be part of the new Woodlands North Coast Integrated Development with sports, community, healthcare, F&B and social services.

Kranji Nature Corridor

The Kranji Nature Corridor was conceptualised from NParks’ Ecological Profiling Exercise and connects the core habitats at Central Catchment Nature Reserve and the upcoming Mandai Mangrove and Mudflat Nature Park, along Sungei Mandai and Sungei Pang Sua. The Corridor's green and blue spaces will offer more ways for visitors to experience nature.

Mandai Mangrove and Mudflat Nature Park

Part of the Sungei Buloh Nature Park Network, this new park will enhance Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve’s ecological capacity in mangrove and shorebird conservation. Nature-based solutions will be adopted to reinforce the shoreline and support mangrove regeneration.

Naturalisation of Sungei Mandai

The proposed naturalisation of Sungei Mandai will serve as a recreational and ecological extension to Mandai Mangrove and Mudflat Nature Park and the Rail Corridor, whilst enhancing climate resilience.

Proposed parks at Sungei Pang Sua and Kranji Reservoir will further strengthen ecological connectivity within Kranji Nature Corridor and provide additional nature-based recreational opportunities.
