Park connectors and recreational corridors weave the region's neighbourhoods with a wide range of recreational opportunities!
Eastern Corridor
80 kilometres of new green spines will better link the existing Tampines Boulevard Park, Pasir Ris Town Park, Tampines Eco Green, Bedok Reservoir Park and East Coast Park. The spines include the Eastern Corridor, East Coast Central Green Corridor and Coast-to-Coast Southern Trail
Paving better ways of getting around
Journeys between Pasir Ris, Tampines and Simei will be safer and more welcoming as active mobility and cycling paths are improved.
Repurposing rail spaces into attractive community spaces
The rail network is interwoven into daily life in the East, bringing footfall to and invigorating Tampines, Bedok, Simei and Pasir Ris. With the East Coast Integrated Depot set to open in 2026, LTA plans to decommission a one-kilometre section of the rail viaduct near Tanah Merah MRT Station and Changi Depot. Parts of these spaces may be transformed for community users.

In 2023, LTA called for ideas to repurpose a to-be-decommissioned viaduct and open spaces beneath it. Over 200 submissions were received and the ideas were further developed through community co-creation sessions. The possibilities include a green oasis that promises a distinctive and vibrant community space for residents to enjoy.
A depot for sports and recreation

Residents got creative at the Recreation Master Plan exhibition at Bedok Town Square held in May 2024. They brainstormed ideas for repurposing an old Changi Depot train shed. The top pick? Reusing it for sports and recreation! Other favoured options included arts, culture, heritage, retail and spaces for food and beverage.

"VIASTA!: Changi Simei Viaduct Fiesta" is Singapore's first community-led festival hatched by residents to transform an under-viaduct space in the community. It features a variety of booths set up by residents such as live music and movie screenings.
Refreshing Changi Point
A recreational destination since colonial days, Changi Point today continues to draw visitors with its idyllic setting and cosy mix of eateries and shops. Its lush greenery, breezy corners, gentle seas and colonial heritage create a coastal haven for those yearning for a quiet retreat with rustic charm.

In the 2021 Charmingly Changi Ideas Competition, the public expressed an appreciation for Changi Point's heritage and natural assets. Winning entries showcased its natural terrain, rich biodiversity and heritage to sensitively enhance the area's rustic charm. They also proposed new community spaces, recreational uses and programmes to attract both Singaporeans and visitors.

Drawing ideas from the competition, Changi Point can be enhanced as a recreational node along the Greater Rustic Coast while celebrating its heritage through sensitive adaptive reuse of key buildings, to introduce new recreational, hospitality and lifestyle experiences to the area.
Better connectivity
The public can also look forward to an enhanced recreational experience along the Round Island Route (RIR). By 2028, a new Changi Point Bridge will improve cycling connectivity from Changi Point Waterfront Park to Changi Beach Park across Sungei Changi.
Changi Point will become more accessible with improvements to the transport infrastructure for Changi Northern Corridor, which includes the upcoming Loyang MRT Station along CRL, road and commuter infrastructure enhancements, cycling paths along Loyang Avenue and the Loyang Viaduct.
