Inject more workspaces near homes
Efforts are being made to introduce more workspaces within neighbourhoods, making it easier for residents to work closer to home and enjoy flexible arrangements.
We plan to locate more co-working spaces within neighbourhoods to enhance convenience for residents working remotely. For instance, the upcoming integrated community hub One Punggol will have dedicated co-working spaces to provide more options for residents looking to work from outside their homes and offices.
Several work booths were also recently implemented at community spaces around Singapore under a year-long pilot. The Housing & Development Board will monitor the outcome to assess the need to scale up and introduce more of such spaces within HDB estates.
Agencies will continue to monitor trends to guide the planning of future co-working spaces near residential areas, while also considering the demand for space to accommodate other community uses.
We are also working with businesses to test and implement innovative design solutions and measures to reduce nuisances such as dust and noise from industrial processes. That way, they can be located closer to their employees and customers.
