Expand decentralisation efforts
Plans are underway to bring jobs closer to homes by developing more business hubs across Singapore, offering greater convenience and work-life balance.
We will scale up and develop our islandwide economic centres to inject more workspaces near homes and support Singapore’s growth in various sectors, such as in the biomedical, chemical, and aerospace manufacturing industries. In the process, we will also consider more flexible spaces and mixed uses upstream to cater to future trends. This can include hybrid work, evolving business needs, and to provide more quality amenities closer to residents’ homes.

The development of our islandwide economic centres will involve building up supporting infrastructure, followed by establishing a critical mass of relevant uses and supporting amenities. This will be done progressively over many years, with the plans reviewed and refined regularly based on evolving needs and market conditions.
