Continue to strengthen CBD
Building on its role as a key business hub, plans will further strengthen the CBD with more amenities and mixed uses to create a vibrant live-work-play environment.
Our city centre is a key asset for Singapore. Its good mix of live-work-play, business, arts & cultural, lifestyle and recreational uses, that are blended into both modern and historic settings, help Singapore stand out as a vibrant and attractive first port-of-call for businesses and visitors alike.

This can be seen by the strong post-pandemic demand for office space in the CBD, mainly driven by the technology and finance sectors. We will thus continue to strengthen our CBD’s relevance and position as an attractive global business and financial centre that provides quality jobs for Singaporeans.
At the same time, we will continue our efforts to rejuvenate the CBD as a vibrant district through our land use plans, policies and incentive schemes. This can include injecting more mixed uses and housing to create live-in neighbourhoods, welcoming public spaces, and a good variety of amenities and uses. We will also continue to monitor trends such as technological and socio-economic developments and calibrate the amount of office space in both the CBD and across Singapore.
