Green transition
As Singapore moves towards a low-carbon future, plans support greener infrastructure, clean energy solutions, and sustainable systems to help achieve net-zero emissions.
We will plan for our city’s infrastructure to be low-carbon and sustainable to help us achieve our aspiration of net-zero emissions by or around mid-century. For example, Punggol Point Crown will be Singapore’s first Super Low Energy Building estate and the former Bukit Timah Fire Station will also be retrofitted to reduce energy demand by 40%.

We will also support a green grid by catering for more alternative energy deployments such as solar panels on water bodies and building facades, as well as facilitating clean electricity imports. Adopting circular economy concepts will also be facilitated by co-locating infrastructure that share common resource loops. For example, Tuas Nexus is Singapore’s first integrated waste and used water treatment facility that is 100% energy self-sufficient.
