Greater variety of green and blue
More parks and waterways will be brought closer to homes, giving residents easier access to nature while supporting recreation, biodiversity, and a more liveable environment.
We will step up efforts to better integrate our green and blue spaces into our urban environment. More green spaces and park connectors will be implemented in the coming years so that every household is within a 10-minute walk of a park. These green spaces will cater to a broad range of needs and will be planned with multi-functionality in mind. For example, the sites designated under NParks’ Nature Park Networks will serve as buffers to protect our core ecological areas while also providing spaces for nature-based recreation, easing the visitorship pressure on our Nature Reserves.

We will also continue working with agencies to explore opportunities to better integrate our parks with waterways to create multi-functional spaces, wherever feasible. In doing so, our waterways go beyond their utilitarian function of managing stormwater, to create a greener and more liveable environment.
