1. What is Legal Requisition?

A Legal Requisition is a search that provides information on the latest planning decision and the current Master Plan zoning for a property.

2. Who can apply for a Legal Requisition?

Any member of the public may apply for a Legal Requisition. In most cases, Legal Requisitions are submitted by law firms for the purpose of property transactions.

3. What information do I need to provide when applying for a Legal Requisition?

A fee of S$54.50 (inclusive of 9% GST) is payable for each Legal Requisition application. Please note that the application fee is non-refundable once the application has been submitted.

5. How long does it take to process my application?

Replies are generally issued within three (3) working days after payment has been successfully processed.

6. How will I receive my reply?

Your Legal Requisition reply will be sent to you by email.

7. What information does a Legal Requisition provide?

A Legal Requisition provides the following information:

  • Latest planning decision for the property

  • Approval and expiry dates (where the latest planning decision is a Grant of Written Permission)

  • Refusal date and grounds of refusal (where applicable)

  • Current Master Plan zoning

8. What information is not provided in a Legal Requisition?

A Legal Requisition does not provide information on the following:

Acquisition of a property

Road proposals
For information on road proposals affecting a property, please refer to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) (opens in new tab) or purchase a Road Line Plan through INLIS (opens in new tab).

Drainage proposals
For information on drainage proposals, please apply for a Drainage Interpretation Plan (opens in new tab) from the Public Utilities Board (PUB) or visit the PUB website (opens in new tab).

9. Does a Legal Requisition provide information on the current approved use of a property?

No. A Legal Requisition generally does not provide information on the current approved use of a property.
