New amenities for residents and more

Existing and future residents can expect a wide array of amenities near the future Turf City MRT Station and other community nodes. Some amenities under study include:

  • Retail options at the two grandstands and other community nodes

  • A variety of food and beverage options, including affordable ones

  • A variety of green spaces, including future neighbourhood parks

  • Sports facilities

  • School

  • Health and medical care amenities, including facilities for seniors

  • Bus interchange

Well-connected and accessible

The estate will be convenient for walking, cycling and getting on to public transport. Surrounding roads will be improved to accommodate the increased traffic too.

Residents will live within a 10-min walk to an MRT station and bus services will enhance first and last mile connectivity.

Road improvements are required to accommodate traffic from the new developments and are currently being studied. This includes the widening of Eng Neo Ave, Dunearn Road and Bukit Timah Road.

With the reduced need for private modes of transport, spaces can be freed up for other uses such as shared community spaces, greenery and pedestrian and cycling paths. Developments will hence provide fewer parking lots.

Shops, parks, recreation and community facilities can be within a 10-min walk or a 5-min cycle.

Efforts to retain habitats, flora and fauna of high biodiversity significance, as well as buildings and structures of high conservation significance, are being undertaken based on recommendations from environmental and heritage studies.

Apart from the former racecourse buildings, the former water depot building is also proposed to be conserved. Built in 1952, the art deco style building first housed offices and staff quarters for the Municipal Water Department, but was subsequently taken over by the Public Utilities Board as a centralised operational depot.
