Building towns that foster community relationships
To encourage stronger community ties, plans look at mixing different housing types and shared spaces, so residents of all backgrounds can interact and connect more easily.
We will study ways to better intersperse different housing types, such as public and private homes, rental and owner-occupied homes, as well as homes of different typologies, within our housing estates.
Community facilities that cater to different population segments, such as playgrounds and elderly facilities, can also potentially be sited together to promote greater interaction between different generations. We will also plan for publicly accessible communal spaces throughout our towns and city.
