Historic address: 2 Dalvey Estate

About
Located on a sloping terrain, this pre-war Anglo-Malay bungalow features the extensive use of timber louvres around its façade for natural ventilation, in response to Singapore's warm tropical climate.
The Building
Other distinctive features that lend the bungalow its unique charm include the porte-cochère at the front, the balustrade of the external staircase at the rear, and the numerous plastered brick piers supporting the main floor.
The Legacy
Works carried out from 2001 to 2002 took advantage of the sloping terrain to create additional living spaces under the main floor, while restoring the bungalow to its former glory.
Guidelines and Procedures
All proposed works will need to comply with the Conservation Guidelines and the Specific Restoration Guidelines (SRG). Conservation Permission is required before all additions & alteration works and operations of new use can begin.
