About
This development comprises two pre-war, single-storey terrace houses at 59 & 61 Kim Yam Road, integrated with a new two-storey extension at the rear. The houses are located on Kim Yam Road, named in 1899 after Wee Kim Yam (1855–1914), a prominent Teochew businessman who dealt in the highly lucrative opium and spirit farm business and served on various public service committees, including the Chinese Advisory Board, the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Committee, and the Po Leung Kuk.
The Legacy
Internally, the development has been transformed into a cosy yet spacious home, serving as a good example of how historic houses can be adapted for modern-day living.
