About
This development comprises 16 pre-war terrace houses at 152A–152J & 152–164 Tembeling Road, and a condominium with modern facilities sited behind them.
The Building
The four terrace houses at 152F–152J Tembeling Road have minimal ornamentation, while the rest are elaborate and eclectic in design. Western influence on their architecture is evident in the plasterwork, Chinese influence in the coin-shaped vents, and Malay influence in the timber fretwork fascia boards and the panels over the windows and doors. At the first storey of each terrace house is a façade consisting of a double door flanked by casement windows on either side, a configuration commonly adopted for residential buildings.
The Legacy
Today, behind each charming façade, the interiors have been transformed into comfortable homes for modern-day living.
Guidelines and Procedures
All proposed works will need to comply with the Conservation Guidelines and the Specific Restoration Guidelines (SRG). Conservation Permission is required before all additions & alteration works and operations of new use can begin.
