About
This residential property, together with the other terrace houses along Blair Road, was constructed in the 1920s as part of the general expansion of the town.
The Building
Built in the highly decorative Rococo style featuring extensive plasterwork, the Chinese influence on its architecture is evident in the bat-shaped vents which symbolise good luck, while the Western influence can be seen in the plasterwork featuring festoons, dentils, and bands of egg-and-dart mouldings.
The Legacy
Behind the charming Rococo façade, the interior has been sensitively reconfigured and updated for contemporary living.
