The Building
This temple was completed in 1869 and built in the Hokkien style, where the ends of the curved roof ridge sweep outwards like swallow tails and the clay roof tiles are not glazed. Its foundation plaque records that it was located on this site because of its good feng shui (geomancy) properties, as it used to front the sea with Ann Siang Hill standing behind it.
