ADVISORY TO HOUSING DEVELOPERS
Who Should Know:
All developers with a sale licence
Effective Date:
With effect from 10 Aug 2021
This has been superseded by the latest advisory. Please find it here.
As announced by Multi-Ministry Taskforce on 6 Aug 2021, existing Safe Management Measures (SMM) will be relaxed from 10 Aug 2021.
The maximum number of persons in each group will be increased from 2 to 5 persons from 10 Aug 2021, while the maximum capacity will remain at 16 sqm per person. The maximum capacity will only be relaxed from 19 Aug 2021 to 10 sqm per person if the COVID-19 situation remains under control. Please note that consumption of food and drinks will continue to be prohibited for visitors within the show gallery.
Prior to 10 August 2021, the current SMM as set out in our advisory on 20 July 2021 will continue to apply to all show galleries. For existing show galleries, please submit the updated checklist within 2 working days of implementing the revised SMM. For new show galleries, please submit the SMM checklist [DOCX, 31.91 KB], at least 2 working days before opening your show gallery.
For the handing over of vacant possession of the units to purchasers, developers should also comply with the prevailing SMM guidelines, i.e. from 10 Aug 2021, the maximum number of persons in each group should be capped at 5 persons, including developer’s staff, with 1m distance between groups and no intermingling between the groups. There is no cap on the maximum number of units that can be handed over to purchasers in a day, subject to compliance with the prevailing SMM guidelines. In addition, there should not be any gathering of purchasers during the handing over of units.
As the situation is evolving, please continue to keep abreast of the latest announcements and take immediate steps to comply with the new requirements. We seek your understanding and cooperation to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
