The URA has completed a street-block plan to guide development at Makepeace Road. (See attached plan ref: URA/DC Plan Release 3/96E).
The street-block plan is meant to guide development or re-development within the above street-block. Planning parameters include the form of development, building height and setback requirements. These guidelines are tabulated in Annex 1.
The street-block plan allows the existing staggered setbacks of the buildings to be retained without the need to comply with the current standard requirements. This is to preserve the unique front streetscape of Makepeace Road.
Street-block plans are continuously prepared for areas where the property subdivision or building layout is such that some guidelines are required to rationalise the development pattern.
