The URA has completed the street block plans for the shophouses along Upper Thomson Road, as shown in the attached plans, Plan URA/DC Plan Release 5/2000E and URA/DC Plan Release 6/2000E.
The street block plans are to guide development for four street blocks on both sides of Upper Thomson Road. They prescribe the land use and proposed land parcellation to facilitate redevelopment within these street blocks. Redevelopment to the Master Plan 1998 density would only be allowed if it is in accordance with the street block plans. To achieve a comprehensive building layout and to improve accessibility, the redevelopment of individual shophouses within the parcels would not be supported. Only minor additions and alterations without increasing the floor area can be supported for the individual shophouses.
The other development control guidelines on building form, building setback, height control, covered walkway requirements, and vehicular access arrangement are also spelled out for each parcel, as shown in Annexes A and B.
