The sale and purchase agreements (Form D and Form E) of the Housing Developers Rules provide for the payment of instalments to the developer at various stages of completion of work. Form D is used for the sale of conventional landed properties and Form E for the sale of strata units. The building terms used in the description of the various stages of completion for the usual types of building projects may be interpreted as follows:

Stage (b) | Stage (b) | "foundation" means the piles and pile caps. Where spread footing or raft foundation is used, it would mean the footing or raft. |

Stage (d) | Stage (d) | "brickwalls" means the enclosure walls to the housing unit and all the perimeter walls of the rooms and division walls. Duct walls for concealing pipework only may be excluded. |
Stage (e) | - | "roofing" means the whole of the roof including the structural, insulation and waterproofing works. In the case of a pitch roof, the false ceiling (if there is one) shall be included. |
- | Stage (e) | "ceiling" shall include the completion of a false ceiling, if one is provided. |
