About
The Toa Payoh Town Park developed in the 1970s as a neighbourhood park to serve the needs of residents in Toa Payoh New Town. The look-out tower was designed to be a landmark feature in the landscape, overlooking a man-made pond shaded by willowing trees.
The Legacy
The tower has been the backdrop of many wedding photographs, and features significantly in the memories of many local residents. The structure was given conservation status on 3 December 2009.
Guidelines and Procedures
All proposed works will need to comply with the Conservation Guidelines and the Specific Restoration Guidelines (SRG). Conservation Permission is required before all additions & alteration works and operations of new use can begin.
Any proposed additions and alterations to this conserved structure are subject to evaluation. Please submit your proposal for URA's review.
