Hoon San Temple

About
Built in 1903 with traditional construction of masonry, brick and timber, the temple is a typical single module Southern Chinese clan temple.
The Building
It is well-proportioned and the style follows that of Fujian temple design where the building is crowned with hipped and gable roofs with over-hanging eaves all round. The temple is richly decorated with paintings and frescos adorning the interior surfaces. It contains a wealth of artistic details and workmanship that is rarely found in temples in Singapore.
The Legacy
The building was given conservation status on 13 March 2009.
