Balestier Market

About
Balestier Market was built in 1922 for local farmers to sell their produce. Conserved, it is now the only "rural" market still standing, and has recently been revamped as a 24-hour food centre, remaining an established landmark in the area.
The History
During the Second World War, the market served as a centre for the distribution of food rations in the area.
