Bid for State buildings and spaces The RSVP (Reinventing Spaces into Vibrant Places) programme is jointly administered by URA and the Singapore Land Authority to testbed new interim uses and ideas for some of our State properties and land, turning buildings and spaces into vibrant places, creating more interesting and meaningful public spaces for the community. These sites can range from shophouse units, stand-alone buildings, utility infrastructure to open spaces. Business owners, architects, designers, and developers can team up to bid for buildings and spaces put up for new interim uses. Proposals for buildings under this programme should contribute to the distinctive identity of the area and make it easy and comfortable for people to access and enjoy the spaces within. Do keep a lookout for new sites that will be launched for tender in future! Turning 30 Maxwell Road into a lively place
AIBI MaxWell, a wellness facility, gave the empty State property at 30 Maxwell Road a new lease of life. Here are 5 enhancements that have made this building and its immediate spaces a lively focal point for office workers and residents in the Tanjong Pagar neighbourhood: 1. The fence around the building has been taken down, making it easier for people to walk through the building compound to get from the Tanjong Pagar MRT to nearby buildings. 2. The ground floor of the building is open and accessible to everyone, with a welcoming open space for people to gather. 3. A colourful pedestrian crossing is added to make it safer for people to cross to get to the building. 4. The carpark lots are converted to landscaping and seating for a shadier, lusher environment. 5. People can also look forward to joining a variety of pop-up events and activities in the building’s open space.
