157 Neil Road_NUS Baba House 3D model
URA planners are currently working with Avetics to explore using drones to create 3D models of heritage buildings, such as the NUS Baba House. The NUS Baba House is one of Singapore’s last remaining untouched Straits Chinese townhouses built in the late 1890s. It was once home to descendants of a 19th century Chinese shipping tycoon. The 3D model in this video captures in detail the decorative plaster, tiles and glass features of the building.

Once the ancestral home of a Straits-Chinese family, the NUS ‘Baba House’ located at 157 Neil Road, is an example of an architectural beauty that has been carefully restored by the URA to illustrate conservation best practices. It is one of the last few untouched Straits-Chinese Houses in Singapore. This short film is produced by Melissa Chan Wan Hua, Chin Yun Ru, Reginald James Kent, Poh Kailing Olivia, Aloyscious Phua Jia Hao and Jermaine Lee Hong Hui from NTU Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information.
