Bukit Timah Turf City is set to be transformed into a new high-density housing estate, where homes, heritage, nature, public spaces and amenities are sensitively integrated to provide current and future residents a highly liveable, inclusive and endearing living environment.

When completed in around 20 to 30 years’ time, the estate will comprise a good mix of approximately 15,000 to 20,000 public and private homes. This also marks the first time in almost 40 years where new public housing is planned along Bukit Timah.

Building on the findings of the Heritage Impact Assessment and feedback from stakeholders, the following measures are proposed to recall the history of the site as well as reinforce its unique character and sense of place:

Building on the recommendations from the Environmental Impact Assessment and in consultation with nature interest groups, the following measures are proposed to minimise ecological impact of development and create opportunities for communal living, recreation, exploring and bonding amidst nature:
Bukit Timah Turf City will be served by two MRT stations on the existing Downtown Line (DTL) and upcoming Cross Island Line (CRL), with residents within 800m or a 10-minute walk from the MRT. It is also designed as a car-lite area with greater emphasis on public transportation, walking and cycling. Provision of car parking will be reduced to free up space for more greenery, amenities and community spaces. Additionally, road improvement works will be carried out to support both existing and new developments in the area.

Bukit Timah Turf City will be planned with “10-minute neighbourhoods”, where amenities such as shops, community and recreational facilities and parks will also be conveniently located close to the MRT stations, within a 10-minute walk for future residents. With the redevelopment of the site, more inclusive and accessible housing will be made available in the Bukit Timah area. Each of the four new neighbourhoods in the estate will embody a distinctive character through well-designed and inclusive public spaces. Public housing will be predominantly situated near the two MRT stations to allow easy access to public transport and amenities.

Since the early stages of planning, we have been actively engaging stakeholders of different backgrounds including heritage groups, nature groups and surrounding residents to seek ideas on the plans and ensure that community needs and concerns are addressed effectively. These ideas and feedback have been taken onboard in the developing of the plans for Bukit Timah Turf City.
Bukit Timah Turf City is planned to be a forward-looking residential estate - one that has been, and will continue to be, shaped by extensive engagements with various stakeholder groups.
We welcome your feedback on the plans, including suggestions on the names of the estate, neighbourhoods, community nodes and public spaces, as well as your memories of the area. Share them in our feedback form!
