Release of second half 2015 Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme

  Published: 11 June 2015

The Government today announced the second half 2015 (2H2015) Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme, which comprises 4 Confirmed List sites and 13 Reserve List sites. These sites can yield up to 7,825 private residential units, including 1,340 Executive Condominium (EC) units, and 277,580 sqm gross floor area (GFA) of commercial space (see Appendices 1 & 2 [PDF, 7kb]).

The Confirmed List comprises 4 private residential sites (including 1 EC site) which can yield about 2,130 private residential units (including 520 EC units).

The Reserve List comprises 8 private residential sites (including 1 EC site), 2 commercial & residential sites, 2 commercial sites and 1 White site. These sites can yield about 5,695 private residential units as well as 275,580 sqm GFA of commercial space, mostly for office use.

The supply of private housing and commercial space from the GLS Programme, together with supply from projects in the pipeline, will be adequate to meet the demand for private housing and commercial space over the next few years.

Supply of Private Housing

The residential sites on the 2H2015 Confirmed List are located in Outside Central Region and Rest of Central Region. These sites are expected to provide a supply of about 2,130 private residential units (including 520 EC units), which will be added to the existing pipeline supply of about 84,000 private residential units (including ECs).

Supply of Commercial Space

The Government is releasing a White site in Marina Bay at Central Boulevard for sale via the Reserve List of the 2H2015 GLS Programme. The release of this site will facilitate the continued seamless expansion of the Central Business District at Marina Bay. When developed, the site will complete the streetblock along Shenton Way and enhance pedestrian connectivity in the existing Marina Bay office cluster.

The White site at Marina View / Union Street, which had been made available for sale through the Reserve List since October 2011, will be removed from the Reserve List for a review of its development plans.

The 2H2015 Reserve List includes 2 other sites for predominantly office developments. Both are carried over from the 1H2015 Reserve List. These sites at Beach Road and Woodlands Square, together with the Central Boulevard site, will allow developers to initiate the development of more office space if they assess that there is demand.
