Overview of the GFA AutoChecker
Leveraging on BIM (Building Information Modelling) technologies, URA has developed an automated checking system for GFA. The new rule-based checking system will allow for GFA of the submitted proposals to be verified more expediently, prior to issuance of Written Permission. This will provide greater certainty in the design, reducing the need for changes downstream to address GFA errors.
The project will start off with a pilot run, where live projects can be checked using the new system.
Pilot Run
Starting from Aug 2020, a pilot run will be conducted over a period of one year. This will allow us to fine-tune the system and Modelling Guidelines, before full implementation of the system.
We welcome all Qualified Persons to participate in the Pilot. Submissions in BIM which are in accordance with the Modelling Guidelines, and will be checked using the new system.
Submission Requirements and Modelling Guidelines
Some changes will be made to the submission requirements and Modelling Guidelines under the current CoP for BIM e-submissions. These enhancements are necessary to enable the automated system to perform the checks accurately.
