The following may not be supported as event truck activations:
To park and operate an event truck along Marina Bay's waterfront promenade, operators must submit an application to URA to obtain a Non-Renewable Temporary Occupation License (NRTOL) which allows such activities to be held on a short-term, temporary basis. All event truck operators must abide by the NRTOL Terms & Conditions (PDF, 77KB) and Special Conditions for Food Trucks and Event Trucks (PDF, 121KB).
Refer to this Event Truck Location Map for the designated lots along the waterfront promenade.
Lots 1 and 2 are located at the base of The Promontory, and Lot 5 is located near Red Dot Design Museum.
The following fees will apply:
Commercial
1 If the operator fails to reinstate the event space or fulfil its obligations under the NRTOL, URA reserves the right to carry out the required reinstatement works or impose a penalty, drawing from the security deposit. The full amount will be refunded if no reinstatement cost or penalties are imposed. 2 All stated rates are excluding prevailing GST.
Please obtain a valid approval for use of your vehicle from the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
Please obtain a valid Temporary Change of Use permit from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). You may submit the application via GoBusiness. Please factor in a processing time of minimally 1 week prior to your NRTOL start date.
Where applicable, you are to secure the relevant permits and licences (PDF) for your event truck and send a copy to URA when requested.
For all event truck applications at Marina Bay, only operators with LTA-approved vehicles should apply. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
To operate at Lots 1, 2 or 5, please submit your application via this Application form.
Please apply at least one (1) month before the start date, but not more than six (6) months in advance. Only forms submitted within this application window will be processed.
Approved applicants will receive an email from URA advising them of the payment process and conditions of use. Applicants are required to make payment in full before the start of the approved NRTOL period.
What is considered an event truck? An event truck is a motorised vehicle that is custom-fitted with the space and amenities to run an activity directly from the vehicle. Compared to other forms of outdoor set ups (e.g. tentages, refurbished shipping containers), event trucks minimise set up/tear down works as they can be driven in and parked directly without the use of other vehicles or equipment. Typically, event trucks are deployed by event organisers to run brand experiences as well as product giveaways, displays or sales in a pop-up manner.
I see that the designated lots for event trucks fall within Marina Bay only. To operate my truck at other locations, can I also submit an application through URA? URA processes event truck applications only for Marina Bay. All other locations that may be permitted for similar operations are not under URA’s purview. We advise the operator to reach out directly to the respective landowners for permission to operate on their grounds.
Can I sell food or set up my own tables and chairs beside the event truck? For mobile trucks operating as F&B takeaway sales, please refer to our Food Truck Application page instead.
Under the NRTOL Terms & Conditions (PDF, 77KB) and Special Conditions for Food Trucks and Event Trucks (PDF, 121KB), the set up of tables, chairs or other temporary structures such as tentages are not permitted. Should your event require physical set up or additional space apart from the event truck, please refer to our Event Application page instead.
What is a Non-Renewable Temporary Occupation License (NRTOL), and how long can each NRTOL period be for? The NRTOL is a temporary license that allows the occupant the use of state land for approved purposes on a short-term, temporary basis. The minimum NRTOL period for event truck activations at Marina Bay is a one-day occupancy.
How long does the application process take? The normal processing time is 3-4 weeks, depending on the accuracy and completeness of documents received. Please note that URA will only process complete applications.
What are the payment terms like? Payment for the NRTOL fee is to be made in full and prior to the approved NRTOL start date. URA does not accept monthly or instalment payments.
What amenities are provided under the event truck NRTOL? The NRTOL solely permits the use of state land for event truck activations. All other amenities should be self-provided and physically contained within the vehicle (e.g. in-built generators, power points, lighting). If additional power is required, operators may apply to tap onto one of Marina Bay’s smart poles, subject to URA’s approval. Separate utilities charges will apply.
My event truck requires an external source for electricity. What are the electrical charges like? Event trucks should be self-sufficient in power as best as possible. Requests to set up external generators will not be supported. Where additional electrical supply is required, the operator may apply with URA to tap onto one of the smart poles, subject to approval. The power supply located on each smart pole is an Industrial CEE-formed socket with 32amp single phase. Operators are required to submit a single line diagram (SLD) endorsed by a licensed electrical worker (LEW), for URA’s approval prior to the connection. In addition, operators are required to supply and install a Circuit Breaker for their distribution board and cover loose cables with a cable floor tray that shall be cleared from site at the end of each day.
Each electrical point will be charged $23/day (before GST). An application charge of $68.40 (before GST) per NRTOL will also apply.
