Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) can provide a safe, inclusive and efficient mobility option for all commuters, bringing them to their destinations quicker and more conveniently. As Singapore prepares for the operation of AVs on our roads, it is necessary to develop a better understanding of whether AVs would be able to smoothly and safely maneuver through existing bus stops, taxi stands, pick-up and drop-offs points. How can these facilities be better designed and equipped to facilitate future AV deployment and enhance the overall user experience? LTA is launching a grant call with URA for proposals to develop design recommendations and strategies to make bus stops, taxi stands, pick-up and drop-off points more suitable for AVs to co-exist with manned vehicles. Find out more on the grant call and how you can participate at LTA’s website. Submission period: 19 October 2020, 1200hrs to 16 November 2020, 1200hrs
