ABOUT

Located at Collyer Quay, Clifford Pier, former Customs Harbour Branch building and Change Alley Aerial Plaza were given conservation status on 14 March 2007. Built in the 1930s, the Art Deco-style Clifford Pier was known as ‘Red Lamp Pier’ because a red lamp used to be hung there to direct sea vessels. The Modern-style former Customs Harbour Branch building was built in the late 1960s to meet the expanding workload of the Customs Police. Both Clifford Pier and former Customs Harbour Branch building were built by the Public Works Department (PWD). The Modern-style Change Alley Aerial Plaza was built in 1971 by local architect KK Tan & Associates.
