Suntec City is one of the largest commercial developments in Singapore to date. Viewed from above, the five office towers of Suntec City resemble the human hand, while the Fountain Terrace sits like a gold ring placed in the centre of the palm.

The central plaza is the hub of circulation within the development for pedestrians and vehicles. Promenades lined with shops and restaurants radiate out from the four corners of the Fountain Terrace, connecting each of the buildings of Suntec City to City Link and onwards to City Hall MRT Station.

The convention complex is also lifted above the first storey, allowing the retail mall to slide underneath and bring pedestrian activities into the complex. The integration of retail activities and public amenities with convention facilities creates a vibrant urban street life.
