• The design of the Choa Chu Kang Crematorium is rooted in the reference to the spiritual and the essence of the primordial, with the choreography of basic geometrical forms.
• The entrance into a lobby space on the outer rim of its radial layout leads into the innermost sanctum of the complex represented by a circular lotus pond that is open to the sky. The entrance signals a point of departure from the external environment, with its heavy external concrete façade, into a "detached" air-conditioned internal environment separated by landscape placed between glass panels and the concrete façade.
• As one progresses through the complex, guided by a sequence of event spaces set in a cyclic layout, one gets progressively "re-connected" with the macrocosm - depicted by lightness and the connection to nature in the architecture.
