• An example of a unique integration of function and form, with its well-proportioned reinforced concrete building clad in a curtain wall of solid and perforated aluminium panels and adjustable glass louvres.
• Implementation of a structural grid of 8 metres by 9 metres on a simple rectangular plan helps to achieve the most efficient layout for the electrical equipment it was to accommodate, with escape staircases located at both ends of the building in order not to disrupt the layout of the main floors.
• Designed to provide a low maintenance, simple and aesthetically pleasing envelope for the equipment, the substation is horizontally delineated and expressed on the exterior, with the different levels subtly expressing their functions.
