Singapore has been likened to a life-sized gallery of architecture and urban design. In the city stands many exemplary works by local and international architects. Over the last 40 years, architects in Singapore attempted to express the ambitions of a young nation and demonstrated their capacity to produce works of substantial quality. The exhibition “Singapore 1:1 - City” presents a selection of these works located in the Central Area and discusses their roles in creating our distinctive city today.

Using drawings, photographs, conceptual sketches and models, the exhibition features works that range from residential to commercial buildings and public institutions. These works demonstrate the diversity, innovation, and creative energy of architectural talents working in Singapore.

The exhibition is organised by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), in collaboration with the Board of Architects (BOA), National University of Singapore (NUS), Real Estate Developers' Association of Singapore (REDAS) and the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA). The exhibition is curated by Dr Wong Yunn Chii, from the Department of Architecture, School of Design and Environment, NUS.
