Other interesting ideas Besides the innovative ideas and solutions by the winning and merit prize schemes, here are some creative ideas proposed by a few competitors that could perhaps become reality in other high-rise housing developments in the near future! - Communal spaces filled with lush greenery at different levels, in different scales and sizes - from "forest trail" spiralling around or connecting blocks, to landscaped courtyards with panoramic views of the city. - Designs facilitating interaction among residents - communal streets, plazas and urban villages in the sky where residents could mingle and socialise. - Interesting ecological designs - wind deflectors to increase natural ventilation and reduce heat or collection of rainwater for watering plants, etc. - New living experience - terrace houses 30 storeys above ground with private balcony space; driving right up to your apartment; designing your own 'pod' unit and 'plug' it into the structural frame. |
