SINGAPORE 1:1(ISLAND) - EXHIBITION ON SIGNIFICANT ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN DESIGN WORKS OUTSIDE THE CITY CENTRE

INTRODUCTION

1.

The exhibition "SINGAPORE 1:1 (City)" held at the URA Centre from Nov 2005 to Mar 2006 featured a selection of significant architecture and urban design works completed in the City Centre since 1965. During the 20-week period, the exhibition attracted over 21,000 visitors. It was also widely covered in both local and international press media.

2.

As a follow-up to "SINGAPORE 1:1 (City)", URA is collaborating with BOA, NUS, REDAS and SIA to hold an exhibition titled "SINGAPORE 1:1 (Island)" next year that will showcase significant works outside the City Centre. This is in continuation of our efforts to promote Architecture and Urban Design (A&UD) excellence in Singapore.
