URA OFFERS CONSERVATION SHOPHOUSES AT BUSSORAH STREET
FOR SALE BY PUBLIC TENDER

1. The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) today launched 10 parcels of conservation shophouses at Bussorah Street for sale on 99-year leases for commercial use.



2. Five of the shophouses were part of the 8 parcels of conservation shophouses offered for sale in October 2002 this year but these 5 were not sold either because no bid was submitted or the tendered prices offered were much lower than the Government's assessed market values. The other 5 shophouses are new ones offered for sale in this launch.



3. The sale of conservation shophouses is not part of the Government Land Sales Programme. As announced on 4 December 2002, the sale of confirmed sites under the 2003 Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme is suspended until the first half of 2003. There is no change to the policy to suspend the sale of confirmed sites under the GLS programme.

4. Tender will close at 12.00 noon on 21 January 2003 (Tuesday).



5. The details of the parcels for sale are in Annex A and Annex B.



6. Sales Packets are available at S$51.50 (inclusive of 3% GST). They can be purchased from the Customer Service Counter on the 1^st storey of The URA Centre, 45 Maxwell Road, Singapore 069118.



7. Sales Packets can also be purchased via Internet at http://www.ura.gov.sg/sales/sales_main.html at a cost of S$61.50 and S$120 for local and overseas delivery respectively. All enquiries may be directed to 1800-3293326 or fax: 63235674.
