URA launches tender for a residential site
at Handy Road (Land Parcel B)
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) today launched Land Parcel B at Handy Road for sale by public tender.
Land Parcel B at Handy Road is one of the two residential sites that were transferred from the Reserve List onto the Confirmed List of the Government Land Sales Programme for 1st half of 2007 that was announced on 21 December 2006. The other residential site on the Confirmed List is at Choa Chu Kang Road/ Woodlands Road (above Bukit Panjang LRT Depot) which is scheduled for launch in June 2007.
Prime Location for a Unique Residential Development
The land parcel is located within the prime residential district at Mount Sophia and next to shopping and entertainment amenities such as Plaza Singapura, The Atrium @ Orchard and The Cathay. The site is situated within the heart of the City between Orchard Road - Singapore's premier shopping street – and Bras Basah.Bugis - the arts, culture, learning and entertainment hub. It offers future residents a variety of lifestyle opportunities and amenities such as shopping, dining, cinema, theatres and performance venues. Some of the notable developments within close proximity to the site includes the new National Library, the National Museum of Singapore, Singapore Management University and the future Arts School.
The Land Parcel is immediately adjacent to the Dhoby Ghaut Interchange Station with convenient direct access to the North-East Line, the North-South Line and the upcoming Circle Line as well as the rest of the islandwide rail network.
Land Parcel B at Handy Road
Land Parcel B at Handy Road has a site area of about 0.36 ha and can generate a maximum permissible gross floor area of about 10,034 sqm. The successful tenderer has the option of developing the site for full residential use or residential use together with complementary commercial uses at the first storey.

Other Details
A tender period of about 8 weeks will be allowed for the site. The tender will close at 12 noon on 28 March 2007. Selection of successful tenderer will be based on the tendered land price only.
Developer’s Packets for the land parcel are available at S$105.00 each (inclusive of GST). These can be purchased from the Customer Service Counter on the 1st Storey at The URA Centre, 45 Maxwell Road, Singapore 069118. The developer’s packets can also be purchased via URA-Online at http://www.ura.gov.sg/sales/sale_of_developer’s_packet.html at a cost of S$105.00 (excluding delivery charges) for local and overseas purchases.
