Building owners who lease out units in their buildings up to a term not exceeding an aggregate of 21 years (including any option for renewal) are not required to obtain strata subdivision permission. The exemption is applicable to the following types of multi-unit developments:

  1. Commercial

  2. Mixed commercial/residential

  3. Non-landed residential

  4. Flatted factory and flatted warehouse developments

  5. Science park and business park developments
